A bold, breathtaking exterior mural by renowned artist Alex Kwong sets the tone for the avant-garde vibes inside. Glide into the lobby and find yourself enveloped in Cassie Suche’s nature-inspired mural – you’ll find new details to obsess over every day.

Alex Kwong

Alex Kwong, hailing from Calgary, Alberta, is a muralist with a talent
for bringing walls to life with his stunning, photorealistic portraits infused with expressive energy. His work bridges the gap between the tangible world and the emotional undercurrents that define our experiences. His latest project? A commanding mural over 700 square feet on the South Elevation wall of HIVE, poised to transform our building into a beacon of culture and beauty. With a background steeped in Art History, Alex doesn’t just create art; he weaves history into the present, making a lasting contribution to HIVE’s legacy.

Cassie Suche

Cassie Suche, known for her distinct art in Calgary’s public spaces, is now bringing her talents to HIVE with two murals in the lounge and another in the fitness room, featuring peacock blues, Hollywood golds, and aquatic turquoises. With over 10 public installations, Suche’s work spans outdoor pieces, installations, sculptures, and paintings, grounded in a philosophy that art knows no bounds, enabling deeply personal and universally resonant creations. Beyond her own art, Suche is deeply involved in the community, mentoring young artists and working with organizations to integrate art into public spaces, reflecting her belief in art’s power to enhance community narrative and pride.

Cory Nespor

Cory Nespor, with two decades of capturing insights, creates art that merges fabric, spray paint, and photography. His artistic evolution began in Winnipeg and took him worldwide, transitioning from graphic design and electrician work to fully embracing art in 2013. After moving to New Zealand, a successful solo show cemented his career. He co-founded the nvrlnd. Arts Foundation in Calgary with Kelly Johnsgaard, where he mentors emerging artists.

Cory’s about to amp up HIVE with a pair of light box installations that are anything but ordinary. He’s on a mission to brighten our already vibrant space, pulling from his eclectic mix of skills and a hefty dose of creativity. By weaving together his construction savvy, electrical expertise, and a keen eye for lighting, Cory makes materials come alive. These pieces? They’re not just art. They’re a masterclass in luminescence, showcasing Cory’s unique ability to blend practical know-how with an innovative spirit, all while keeping HIVE gleaming in a sophisticated glow.

Make-up air heating improvement from 80% to 92% efficiency – reducing overall GHG emissions and our carbon footprint

Equipping suites with ERVs (energy recovery ventilators) that bring fresh air to the suite while minimizing the energy to heat and cool the air
